About Olde.Farm

Thanks for checking out Olde.Farm – our name, and our website address. We’re not a dot.com – we’re a dot.farm – and we can’t wait to meet you here at the former Peterson farm which was established around 1912.

Olde.Farm is a collaboration between the Slaight and Atteberry families. Steve and Colleen, along with Jack and Karen Atteberry expanded our near-town location, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

In or around 1912, Emmanuel and Anna Peterson retired from their Iowa farm, settling down on 160 acres between Denton and Lincoln. They soon built a wonderful, foursquare Farmhouse, complete with hot and cold running water, electricity, heat, and even a walk-in closet in the main bedroom.

They, then their children, owned the house until the 70’s when Win and Maureen Mumma took on the property and a restoration project. Win is one of the most famous artists that nobody knows. Every day, throughout Nebraska, his artwork shows up on jackets, t-shirts, advertisements, and the floor of the UNL Basketball arena. Yep – that famous Huskers script logo was drawn up right here at Olde.Farm. That artwork set the University back $75.00 – an investment that has been fairly profitable, so we hear!

Today, just a few years after the Slaights bought the ‘farm’ (so to speak…) they have taken on a project with their friends to create a fun, relaxing space for you to check out some produce and enjoy kicking back on what is now a 5-acre farm nestled among a crop of beautiful homes, and across the road from a beautiful field of corn and soybeans – Nebraska staples for sure.

Special thanks to last year’s partners and 2nd cousins, Caleb and Paige Stahly, who helped launch Olde.Farm. Two young children and a very busy farm of their own have necessitated their focus going back home, but we couldn’t have started this without them!

While we love the Farmer’s Market, we thought you might also enjoy the slower pace of Olde.Farm. Oh, and when you visit, you might want to also check out these other markets (not affiliated with us) in the Denton area:

ShadowBrook Country Market – 2201 West Denton Road

Grow with the Flow Aquaponics – 1524 Yankee Hill Road

We are excited about our new venture together – and excited to hear your story as well!
